FAQs

FAQs

Therapy involves a lot of questions, here’s a few answers to get started.

Payments and Insurance

  • What are your therapy rates?

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions and see if we’re a good fit. Standard sessions are 50 minutes and cost $150.

  • What are your payment policies?

I accept payment through SimplePractice, a secure client portal. Payment is due at the time of service unless we make other arrangements in advance.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance company.

  • What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that lists services provided, rates, and insurance billing codes. Many clients use superbills to get partial reimbursement from their insurance. Contact your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

  • Do you offer a sliding scale for therapy?

I occasionally have limited sliding scale spots for clients with financial need. Please inquire during your consultation if cost is a concern.

Sessions and Scheduling

  • How do I make an appointment?

You can request an appointment directly through my booking page. New clients often begin with a free 15-minute consultation.

  • How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. We will decide together if biweekly or another schedule fits your needs over time.

  • How long are therapy sessions?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Extended sessions may be available upon request.

  • What can I expect in my first session?

After your free 15-minute consultation call, we’ll schedule a full online session through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform. In the first session, I’ll invite you to share what you hope to gain from therapy and your goals. I’ll also review my practice policies and answer your questions.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments may be rescheduled within the same week (based on availability) at no extra cost. Missed sessions or cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed at the regular session rate.

Therapy Process and Confidentiality

  • Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes, sessions are confidential except in rare cases where disclosure is legally required (for example, if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others). I will review confidentiality in detail during our first session.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can help if you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, dealing with trauma, or struggling in relationships. Many people also come to therapy for personal growth, clarity, or support during life transitions.

  • Who do you work with?

I provide online counseling for adults (18+) in Washington and Utah. I do not currently see children or teens.

Location and Licensing

  • Where are you licensed to practice?

I am licensed in both Washington State and Utah.

  • What if I live outside Washington or Utah?

I am unable to provide therapy services to clients outside of Washington and Utah. If you live elsewhere, I encourage you to search for licensed providers in your state.

  • Do you offer in-person therapy?

At this time I provide telehealth only, using a secure video platform so you can attend sessions from home.
